During Term 3 students in Years 5 – 8 will be covering the topic of puberty. This is a major component of the health curriculum at these levels. At Rāwhiti we intend to use a comprehensive and appropriately levelled programme put together by the Family Planning Association in accordance with ministry guidelines called The Sexuality Road.
As part of our commitment to whānau involvement, we invite you to attend an information evening for parents and caregivers of Year 5 – 8 students. We have invited Paul Scammell from Family Planning to
share the programme with you and answer any questions you might have about how to talk about this topic at home.
